What I have learned at 91ε is that each quarter brings with it new experiences. Sometimes they are wrapped in neat little packages with cute little bows, and sometimes whatever I receive I’d like to send back and pretend it was addressed to someone else. That being said, sometimes the most painful experiences lead…

I can’t seem to stop smiling. I’m smiling because of my morning – I went to the Roundhouse, the New Mexico State Capitol Building, to watch Art Therapy intern Todd Nichols speak in the Rotunda. A number of senators and state officials also spoke, but they didn’t bring art! Todd…

What is a Container?
There are so many types of containers, a person, place, or thing that holds. Many images come to mind: a milk carton, hands, shoes, a home, a room, a box, a nest, my heart, a chair, a mouth, a closet… Many sensations come to body: warmth, safety, fear, constriction, flee,…

The initial quarter of classes I took at 91ε was both exciting and intimidating. It was through one of my first and most memorable classes that I learned the value of intention. Without a concrete intent to work on something, I would get lost in other thoughts and distractions or procrastinate…

I have a song stuck in my head. I think it’s staying stuck because we’ve entered a new year and part of the lyrics are “How am Igonnabe an optimist about this?” The song is called “Pompeii”, byBastille.
This quirky song’s melodysounds pretty upbeat but the lyrics really appeal…

As an Art Therapist, I know that the art process is an important container. As a supervisor, I like to weave in art making and sand tray work in supervision, to articulate client and agency issues and express the multi-dimensional experience that a new therapist has.

Moving to Santa Fe at the end of July gave me a great opportunity to get to know my new home town way ahead of schedule; or so I thought. Most of my time before the start of school was spent traveling to other states, working on writing…

Day one with the kids complete. What utter fun!, and I have limited internet access. I didn't meet Carol, by the way. She was on a journey to Machu Pichu, but I met her foreman and got a tour of the gardens, and of course, walked the labyrinth.
