They say 쐙ou are what you eat and I believe this. I believe that I consist of much of what I consume. I consume veggies쫎ratitude.beans.prayer쫇read쫟elf acceptance쫈hocolate.silence.tofu.turmoil쫈hips.friendships.rice쫆nd more. I consume what is said on the TV news at night쫤hat I read in books before I sleep쫤hat is said in my office and in business meetings쫤hat I learn in the classroom쪰 consume my dogs Kioko and Suki셲 love and attention.桂 I consume apples, oranges, and pears.桂 I consume and recycle what has been said to me by family members in the past and in the present. I consume tamales, pizza, and curry dishes.桂
I consume self judgment, and criticism and judgment from others. I consume respect, trust and love from others.
Much of what I consume can nourish and sustain me. Some of what I take in is just not the best thing for me emotionally or physically. Knowing what I consume brings me to further understanding on the importance of holding it gently and not grasping on to anything with too tight a grip. Mindfulness practice allows me to recognize this with less judgment.桂 My own judgment and self-criticism has crippled me in so many ways in my life and really can interfere with my ability to fully digest the good that I consume.桂 It can prevent me from receiving and giving on deeper levels. Mindfulness gives me a tool for balance and awareness about 쐗hat I eat and supports me on a path for further awareness on sustainability쫟elf care쫟ervice to others쫖iving my life as prayer.
