Karsyn Lahann was born in Southern NM and raised in Las Cruces, NM. She obtained both her BA in Psychology and MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from New Mexico State University. Karsyn relocated to Taos, NM in 2021 and has called Northern NM home since. Karsyn is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Grief Counselor, NM board certified supervisor, and non-denominational minister. Karsyn is currently the Clinical Director and Caretaker of Golden Willow Retreat and has a private practice in Taos. She graduated from the Trauma Grief and Renewal Program through 91ε in 2023.
Karsyn started her career in acute short and long-term inpatient psychiatric care where she gained understanding and compassion for severe mental health and addiction issues. She was then the primary therapist for the 8th Judicial Drug Court, where she was able to help clients with recovery on a long-term basis and able to address the core issues of addiction. Her work eventually led her to her current position as Clinical Director of Golden Willow Retreat where she is able to work with people who are experiencing grief around loss and help to normalize healthy grief and emotional healing.
Karsyn utilizes a person-centered, psychodynamic, and wholistic approach to helping. She also incorporates her experience of her own losses and life experiences to help normalize and validate the human experience. Karsyn believes that true growth and healing happen through finding our true authentic self and connecting mind, body, and soul.
