Camara Meri Rajabari is an arts-based, ancestral, and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapist living and working in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on the ancestral lands of the Pueblo and Tiwa peoples. Her private practice, The Ancestral Psychotherapist, specializes in working with Black, Indigenous, People of Color and those of marginalized identities, navigating anxiety, depression, and intergenerational trauma. Her integrative approach weaves together expressive arts therapy, EMDR, non-ordinary states of consciousness, ancestral wisdom, and imaginal inquiry. Camara’s clinical and teaching work is grounded in liberation psychology, post-humanist healing, and the transformative power of relationship.
A published author and educator, she co-authored the chapter “Invoking the Numinous: Ritual, Medicine, and Magic in Psychedelic Psychotherapy” in Integral Psychedelic Therapy: The Non-ordinary Art of Psychospiritual Healing and has been featured on NPR’s Life Kit podcast, where she discusses ancestral reconnection. Beyond the therapy room, Camara is a spiritualist, AfroFuturist, artist, and mental health activist whose work bridges psychotherapy, sacred ritual, and global healing movements
